{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-7-24-301","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 7-24-301","heading":"Enforcement by department -- Rulemaking.","body":"(1) Subject to the requirements of Title 63G, Chapter 4, Administrative Procedures Act, the department may:\n(a) receive and act on complaints;\n(b) take action designed to obtain voluntary compliance with this chapter; or\n(c) commence administrative or judicial proceedings on its own initiative to enforce compliance with this chapter.\n(2) The department may:\n(a) counsel persons and groups on their rights and duties under this chapter;\n(b) make rules to:\n(i) restrict or prohibit lending or servicing practices that are misleading, unfair, or abusive;\n(ii) promote or assure fair and full disclosure of the terms and conditions of agreements and communications between title lenders and customers; or\n(iii) promote or assure uniform application of or to resolve ambiguities in applicable state or federal laws or federal regulations; and\n(c) employ hearing examiners, clerks, and other employees and agents as necessary to perform the department's duties under this chapter.","path":["Title 7 Financial Institutions Act","Chapter 7-24 Title Lending Registration Act","Part 7-24-3 Enforcement"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title7/Chapter24/7-24-S301.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"90e85e75156db79b636c9a0f62ebf2462ff8e4206d01afb3f4370b920170978a","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-7-24-204","next":"us-ut/utah-code-7-24-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
