{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-70a-7a-105","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 70A-7a-105","heading":"Reissuance in alternative medium.","body":"(1) Upon request of a person entitled under an electronic document of title, the issuer of the electronic document may issue a tangible document of title as a substitute for the electronic document if:\n(a) the person entitled under the electronic document surrenders control of the document to the issuer; and\n(b) the tangible document when issued contains a statement that it is issued in substitution for the electronic document.\n(2) Upon issuance of a tangible document of title in substitution for an electronic document of title in accordance with Subsection (1):\n(a) the electronic document ceases to have any effect or validity; and\n(b) the person that procured issuance of the tangible document warrants to all subsequent persons entitled under the tangible document that the warrantor was a person entitled under the electronic document when the warrantor surrendered control of the electronic document to the issuer.\n(3) Upon request of a person entitled under a tangible document of title, the issuer of the tangible document may issue an electronic document of title as a substitute for the tangible document if:\n(a) the person entitled under the tangible document surrenders possession of the document to the issuer; and\n(b) the electronic document when issued contains a statement that it is issued in substitution for the tangible document.\n(4) Upon issuance of an electronic document of title in substitution for a tangible document of title in accordance with Subsection (3):\n(a) the tangible document ceases to have any effect or validity; and\n(b) the person that procured issuance of the electronic document warrants to all subsequent persons entitled under the electronic document that the warrantor was a person entitled under the tangible document when the warrantor surrendered possession of the tangible document to the issuer.","path":["Title 70A Uniform Commercial Code","Chapter 70A-7a Uniform Commercial Code - Documents of Title","Part 70A-7a-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title70A/Chapter7a/70A-7a-S105.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"8fc98a541c81100fd6cb82afde9e132ee365461992f2776850100a649ff1d8fc","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-70a-7a-104","next":"us-ut/utah-code-70a-7a-106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
