{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-70a-9a-525","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 70A-9a-525","heading":"Fees.","body":"(1) Except as otherwise provided in Subsection (3), the fee for the Division of Corporations and Commercial Code filing and indexing a record under this part, including an initial financing statement of the kind described in Subsection 70A-9a-502(3), shall:\n(a) be determined by the Division of Corporations and Commercial Code;\n(b) be reasonable and fair; and\n(c) reflect the cost of services provided.\n(2) The fee for the Division of Corporations and Commercial Code responding to a request for information from the Division of Corporations and Commercial Code, including for issuing a record showing whether there is on file any financing statement naming a particular debtor shall:\n(a) be determined by the Division of Corporations and Commercial Code;\n(b) be reasonable and fair; and\n(c) reflect the cost of services provided.\n(3)\n(a) This section does not require a fee with respect to a record of a mortgage which is effective as a financing statement filed as a fixture filing or as a financing statement covering as-extracted collateral or timber to be cut under Subsection 70A-9a-502(3). However, the recording and satisfaction fees that otherwise would be applicable to the record of the mortgage apply.\n(b)\n(i) This section does not apply to fees charged by a filing office described in Subsection 70A-9a-501(1)(a).\n(ii) A filing office described in Subsection 70A-9a-501(1)(a) shall charge fees in accordance with Section 17-71-407.","path":["Title 70A Uniform Commercial Code","Chapter 70A-9a Uniform Commercial Code - Secured Transactions","Part 70A-9a-5 Filing"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title70A/Chapter9a/70A-9a-S525.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"5f03dee92088ee3a61102e65051f3dd8e2fdbfaa056f005bf11e4e1d098be9f0","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-70a-9a-524","next":"us-ut/utah-code-70a-9a-526"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
