{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-70d-3-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 70D-3-201","heading":"Licensing required -- Exemptions.","body":"(1)\n(a) On or after January 1, 2011, except as provided in Subsection (2), an individual described in Subsection (1)(b) may not engage in the business of a loan originator unless that individual:\n(i) is licensed under this chapter; or\n(ii) is a registered loan originator.\n(b) This Subsection (1) applies to an employee or agent of:\n(i) a depository institution;\n(ii) a subsidiary of a depository institution; or\n(iii) an affiliate of a depository institution.\n(2) An individual described in Subsection (1)(b) may engage in the business of a loan originator without being licensed under this chapter or a registered loan originator when acting as a loan processor or underwriter.","path":["Title 70D Financial Institution Mortgage Financing Regulation Act","Chapter 70D-3 Financial Institution Loan Originator Licensing Act","Part 70D-3-2 Licensing Requirements and Procedures"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title70D/Chapter3/70D-3-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"27ef9eaadc66277a6b6c5f87eb9e91e2b70ba47bd61e1f6501fdf68b34c6a027","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-70d-3-103","next":"us-ut/utah-code-70d-3-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
