{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-71a-3-101","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 71A-3-101","heading":"Veterans service organizations assistance contracts -- Contract to provide assistance to service members, veterans and their spouses, surviving spouses, and children.","body":"The department is authorized to contract with a veterans service organization organized in this state to provide, especially in the outlying areas of the state, assistance to service members, veterans, their spouses, surviving spouses, and children as follows:\n(1) disseminate information regarding all laws applicable in the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims against the United States arising by reason of service in the uniformed services;\n(2) assist in the establishment of all rights and the procurement of all benefits which may accrue to eligible individuals under the laws of this state or of the United States;\n(3) cooperate with any and all agencies and instrumentalities of this state or of the United States having to do with employment or reemployment;\n(4) cooperate with any and all agencies and instrumentalities of this state or of the United States and make a representative and information available on a rotating basis in the outlying areas of the state;\n(5) assist eligible individuals in obtaining any preference for employment authorized by the laws of this state or of the United States; and\n(6) assist eligible individuals in obtaining emergency relief, and cooperate with any agencies and instrumentalities of this state or of the United States established for the purpose of extending emergency relief.","path":["Title 71A Veterans and Military Affairs","Chapter 71A-3 Veterans Service Organizations Assistance Contracts"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title71A/Chapter3/71A-3-S101.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"2b320153cde67f1ec144f2b14dd044b01cfceb9f14830f5812bf35581fb9cdaa","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-71a-2-103","next":"us-ut/utah-code-71a-3-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
