{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-72-1-204","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 72-1-204","heading":"Divisions enumerated -- Duties.","body":"In addition to divisions created by the department necessary to administer the areas of responsibility of the deputy directors as described in Section 72-1-203, the divisions of the department are:\n(1) the Comptroller Division responsible for:\n(a) all financial aspects of the department, including budgeting, accounting, and contracting;\n(b) providing all material data and documentation necessary for effective fiscal planning and programming; and\n(c) procuring administrative supplies;\n(2) the Internal Audit Division responsible for:\n(a) conducting and verifying all internal audits and reviews within the department;\n(b) performing financial and compliance audits to determine the allowability and reasonableness of proposals, accounting records, and final costs of consultants, contractors, utility companies, and other entities used by the department; and\n(c) implementing audit procedures that meet or exceed generally accepted auditing standards relating to revenues, expenditures, and funding; and\n(3) the Communications Division responsible for:\n(a) developing, managing, and implementing the department's public hearing processes and programs;\n(b) responding to public complaints, requests, and input;\n(c) assisting the divisions and regions in the department's public involvement programs;\n(d) developing and managing internal department communications; and\n(e) managing and overseeing department media relations.","path":["Title 72 Transportation Code","Chapter 72-1 Department of Transportation Administration Act","Part 72-1-2 Department of Transportation"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title72/Chapter1/72-1-S204.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"fc6d87698bc6f6e65b19564cba88b17c39d39a3217fbe16c81b62237aea1aafe","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-72-1-203","next":"us-ut/utah-code-72-1-205"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
