{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-72-10-1303","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 72-10-1303","heading":"Spaceport Exploration Committee duties.","body":"(1) The committee shall:\n(a) establish key objectives that the state should pursue in establishing a spaceport;\n(b) evaluate the supported activities that would be most feasible for a spaceport in the state;\n(c) conduct a spaceport feasibility study;\n(d) conduct a spaceport siting assessment;\n(e) evaluate the advantages and disadvantages the state has in establishing a spaceport; and\n(f) make recommendations to the Legislature regarding whether it is in the state's best interest to establish a spaceport.\n(2) The committee may:\n(a) authorize the department to contract with one or more consultants to perform research, analysis, and legal work, or to provide other assistance necessary to accomplish the committee's duties;\n(b) establish any advisory committees or working groups needed to fulfill the committee's responsibilities;\n(c) by majority vote, add up to three non-voting committee members; and\n(d) appoint one or more working groups to advise and assist the committee.\n(3) The committee shall:\n(a) create a report that:\n(i) details the committee's conclusions on the items described in Subsection (1); and\n(ii) includes recommendations on legislation needed to implement the committee's conclusions; and\n(b) report to the Economic Development and Workforce Services Interim Committee and the Transportation Interim Committee no later than November 30, 2026.","path":["Title 72 Transportation Code","Chapter 72-10 Aeronautics and Space Act","Part 72-10-13 Spaceport Exploration Committee"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title72/Chapter10/72-10-S1303.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"9f5f8c34c3632aa8f6efd8d7b091b13f5e3e4b631f849c522590ba0376cd5eac","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-72-10-1302","next":"us-ut/utah-code-72-11-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
