{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-72-10-903","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 72-10-903","heading":"Unlawful operation of an unmanned aircraft near a correctional facility.","body":"(1) An individual may not operate an unmanned aircraft system:\n(a) to carry or drop any item to or inside the property of a correctional facility;\n(b) in a manner that interferes with the operations or security of a correctional facility; or\n(c) to remove any item from inside the property of a correctional facility.\n(2)\n(a) A violation of Subsection (1)(a) or (c) is a third degree felony.\n(b) A violation of Subsection (1)(b) is a class B misdemeanor.\n(3) An operator of an unmanned aircraft system does not violate Subsection (1) if the operator is:\n(a) an employee or contractor working on behalf of a mosquito abatement district created pursuant to Title 17B, Limited Purpose Local Government Entities - Special Districts, or Title 17D, Limited Purpose Local Government Entities - Other Entities; and\n(b) acting in the course and scope of the operator's employment.","path":["Title 72 Transportation Code","Chapter 72-10 Aeronautics and Space Act","Part 72-10-9 Unlawful Use of Unmanned Aircraft"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title72/Chapter10/72-10-S903.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"6bc81bf002da7558abaf6aab4ab78d1ba4e76dbb81873ef8c0e27bc4872b2a89","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-72-10-902","next":"us-ut/utah-code-72-10-1001"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
