{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-72-7-205","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 72-7-205","heading":"Conditions for licensing of junkyard within 1,000 feet of highway.","body":"(1) The department may not grant a license for the establishment, maintenance, or operation of a junkyard within 1,000 feet of the nearest edge of the right-of-way of any highway on the interstate or primary systems unless the junkyard is:\n(a) screened by natural objects, plantings, fences, or other appropriate means so the junkyard is not visible from the main-traveled-way of the system; and\n(b)\n(i) located within areas that are zoned for industrial use under county or municipal ordinances; or\n(ii) located within unzoned industrial areas, determined by actual land uses as defined by rules made by the department in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act.\n(2) A junkyard controlled by this part may not be expanded or have its use extended except by permission of the department under rules made by the department.","path":["Title 72 Transportation Code","Chapter 72-7 Protection of Highways Act","Part 72-7-2 Junkyard Control Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title72/Chapter7/72-7-S205.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"21776975dddefa6b088548a1f915e60383db99d0f1f5a45390d97095c8f2b6ba","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-72-7-204","next":"us-ut/utah-code-72-7-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
