{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-73-18-4","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 73-18-4","heading":"Division may make rules and set fees.","body":"(1) In accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, the division, after notifying the commission, shall make rules:\n(a) creating a uniform waterway marking system which shall be obeyed by all vessel operators;\n(b) regulating the placement of waterway markers and other permanent or anchored objects on the waters of this state;\n(c) zoning certain waters of this state for the purpose of prohibiting the operation of vessels or motors for safety and health purposes only;\n(d) regulating vessel operators who carry passengers for hire, boat liveries, and outfitting companies; and\n(e) regulating anchored, beached, moored, or abandoned vessels to minimize health, safety, and environmental concerns.\n(2)\n(a) The division, after notifying the commission, may set fees in accordance with Section 63J-1-504 for:\n(i) licensing vessel operators who carry passengers for hire; and\n(ii) registering:\n(A) outfitting companies; and\n(B) boat liveries.\n(b) The license and registration fees imposed pursuant to Subsection (2)(a) shall be deposited into the Boating Account created in Section 73-18-22.","path":["Title 73 Water and Irrigation","Chapter 73-18 State Boating Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title73/Chapter18/73-18-S4.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"ade6434bef2973a4ea78cbfdc1fdc0e21dd78a2a9b149f9d6093cb3b9113af48","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-73-18-3.5","next":"us-ut/utah-code-73-18-6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
