{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-73-29-206","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 73-29-206","heading":"Effect of chapter on other uses and restrictions -- Required acts.","body":"(1) Nothing in this chapter affects the right of the public to use public water for public recreational access, including the touching of the bed beneath the public water if:\n(a) the bed beneath the public water is public property; or\n(b) the bed beneath the public water is private property to which access is not restricted.\n(2) A person using a public water for public recreational access is subject to any other restriction lawfully placed on the use of the public water by a governmental entity with authority to restrict the use of the public water.\n(3) Nothing in this chapter limits or enlarges any right granted by express easement.\n(4) When leaving a public access area, a person shall remove any refuse or tangible personal property the person brought into the public access area.","path":["Title 73 Water and Irrigation","Chapter 73-29 Public Waters Access Act","Part 73-29-2 Recreational Access to Public Water"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title73/Chapter29/73-29-S206.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"f5f71d52274f242d7a82767a21ada2a9c4f40b16d46da1ae0dfc4d1d05e1c8fa","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-73-29-205","next":"us-ut/utah-code-73-29-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
