{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-73-3b-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 73-3b-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Artificially recharge\" means to place water in an aquifer:\n(a) by means of:\n(i) injection;\n(ii) surface infiltration; or\n(iii) another method; and\n(b) for the purposes of:\n(i) storing the water; and\n(ii) recovering the water.\n(2) \"Division\" means Division of Water Rights.\n(3) \"Recharge permit\" means a permit issued by the state engineer to construct and operate a recharge project.\n(4) \"Recharge project\" means to artificially recharge water into an aquifer.\n(5) \"Recovery permit\" means a permit issued by the state engineer to construct and operate a recovery project.\n(6) \"Recovery project\" means to withdraw from an aquifer water that has been artificially recharged pursuant to a recharge permit.","path":["Title 73 Water and Irrigation","Chapter 73-3b Groundwater Recharge and Recovery Act","Part 73-3b-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title73/Chapter3b/73-3b-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"799089163f2631adda948101c161b876fe3269b2952c5f63c61e57d6c9f72921","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-73-3a-109","next":"us-ut/utah-code-73-3b-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
