{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-2-204","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 75B-2-204","heading":"Trust proceedings -- Dismissal of matters relating to foreign trusts.","body":"(1) The court may not, over the objection of a party, entertain proceedings under Section 75B-2-201 involving a trust that:\n(a) is under the continuing supervision of a foreign court;\n(b) is registered in another state; or\n(c) has a fiduciary which transacts a major portion of its trust administration in another state.\n(2) Notwithstanding Subsection (1), the court may entertain a proceeding regarding any matter involving a trust if:\n(a) all appropriate parties could not be bound by litigation in the courts of the other state; or\n(b) the interests of justice would be seriously impaired.\n(3) The court may condition a stay or dismissal of a proceeding on the consent of any party to the jurisdiction of the courts of another state, or the court may grant a continuance or enter any other appropriate order.","path":["Title 75B Trusts","Chapter 75B-2 Uniform Trust Code","Part 75B-2-2 Jurisdiction and Venue for Trusts"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title75B/Chapter2/75B-2-S204.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"21ed1daf2b8edaba2707851e26ce524eebe2bdc01a7c761baa6cb6a1e0900bd1","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-2-203","next":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-2-205"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
