{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-2-305","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 75B-2-305","heading":"Appointment of guardian ad litem or other representative.","body":"(1)\n(a) If the court determines that an interest is not represented under this part, or that the otherwise available representation might be inadequate, the court may appoint a guardian ad litem or other representative to receive notice, give consent, and otherwise represent, bind, and act on behalf of a minor, incapacitated or protected person, or unborn individual, or a person whose identity or location is unknown.\n(b) A guardian ad litem or other representative may be appointed to represent several persons or interests.\n(2) A guardian ad litem or other representative may act on behalf of the individual represented with respect to any matter arising under this chapter, whether or not a judicial proceeding concerning the trust is pending.\n(3) In making decisions, a guardian ad litem or other representative may consider general benefit accruing to the living members of the individual's family.","path":["Title 75B Trusts","Chapter 75B-2 Uniform Trust Code","Part 75B-2-3 Representation"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title75B/Chapter2/75B-2-S305.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"84b124ff9e8091a8ccf62aceafcd0d317de3da0a9cf6a0ee28c38b9b56f9f693","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-2-304","next":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-2-401"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
