{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-2-414","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 75B-2-414","heading":"Modification or termination of uneconomic trust.","body":"(1) After notice to the qualified beneficiaries, the trustee of a trust consisting of trust property having a total value less than $100,000 may terminate the trust if the trustee concludes that the value of the trust property is insufficient to justify the cost of administration.\n(2) The court may modify or terminate a trust or remove the trustee and appoint a different trustee if it determines that the value of the trust property is insufficient to justify the cost of administration.\n(3) Upon termination of a trust under this section, the trustee shall distribute the trust property in a manner consistent with the purposes of the trust.\n(4) This section does not apply to an easement for conservation or preservation.","path":["Title 75B Trusts","Chapter 75B-2 Uniform Trust Code","Part 75B-2-4 Creation, Validity, Modification, and Termination of a Trust"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title75B/Chapter2/75B-2-S414.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"2a84612d99aa475ec003734248da055c0d69ef33b37efceaeec68fb869ee71be","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-2-413","next":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-2-415"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
