{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-3-103","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 75B-3-103","heading":"Application -- Principal place of administration.","body":"(1) This chapter applies to a trust, whenever created, that has the trust's principal place of administration in this state, subject to the following rules:\n(a) if the trust was created before May 14, 2019, this chapter applies only to a decision or action occurring on or after May 14, 2019; and\n(b) if the principal place of administration of the trust is changed to this state on or after May 14, 2019, this chapter applies only to a decision or action occurring on or after the date of the change.\n(2) Without precluding other means to establish a sufficient connection with the designated jurisdiction in a directed trust, the terms of the trust that designate the principal place of administration of the trust are valid and controlling if:\n(a) a trustee's principal place of business is located in, or a trustee is a resident of, the designated jurisdiction;\n(b) a trust director's principal place of business is located in, or a trust director is a resident of, the designated jurisdiction; or\n(c) all or part of the administration occurs in the designated jurisdiction.","path":["Title 75B Trusts","Chapter 75B-3 Uniform Directed Trust Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title75B/Chapter3/75B-3-S103.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"720996c5ad0b0dc7af93dbaa30d1cfc0280ad79f2b4743a3e0f59cfc01c9a052","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-3-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-75b-3-104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
