{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-75e-2-206","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 75E-2-206","heading":"Prosecutorial data collection regarding certain prosecutions, dismissals, and declinations to prosecute.","body":"(1) Each prosecutorial agency within the state shall collect and submit the following data to the department:\n(a) the number of prosecutions during the previous calendar year in which charges were brought against an individual based on the individual's false accusation that a felony or misdemeanor had occurred;\n(b) the disposition of each prosecution described in Subsection (1)(a); and\n(c) the number of cases during the previous calendar year for which an alleged violation of any felony or misdemeanor was dismissed or declined:\n(i) based on evidence that no crime was committed or attempted;\n(ii) based on insufficient evidence to establish a likelihood of success at trial; or\n(iii) because the victim was unable to participate.\n(2) The information required by Subsection (1) shall be submitted to the department in the form and manner selected by the department.","path":["Title 75E Criminal and Juvenile Justice Administration","Chapter 75E-2 Department Of Criminal Justice","Part 75E-2-2 Department Responsibilities"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title75E/Chapter2/75E-2-S206.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"d6e401a3b69ab6a8ba062b846d0155ce5de9b86ca15c9ed4679531ab5b10789d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-75e-2-205","next":"us-ut/utah-code-75e-2-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
