{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-11-213","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-11-213","heading":"Parent or guardian providing a firearm to a violent minor.","body":"(1) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-101.5, 76-11-101, and 76-11-201 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor is guilty of a parent or guardian providing a firearm to a violent minor if:\n(a) the actor intentionally or knowingly provides a firearm to, or permits the possession of a firearm by, a minor;\n(b) the minor is the actor's biological or adopted child or the actor is the legal guardian of the minor; and\n(c) the minor has previously been:\n(i) convicted of a violent felony; or\n(ii) adjudicated in juvenile court for an offense which would constitute a violent felony if the minor were an adult.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is:\n(a) a class A misdemeanor upon the first offense; and\n(b) a third degree felony for each subsequent offense.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-11 Weapons","Part 76-11-2 General Weapons Violations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter11/76-11-S213.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"31028f32655125ffa39a2e484bf2cecd6f50410675e48042e4086df721d1d6e1","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-11-212","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-11-214"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
