{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-11-214","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-11-214","heading":"Parent or guardian knowing a minor is in possession of a dangerous weapon.","body":"(1) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-101.5, 76-11-101, and 76-11-201 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor is guilty of parent or guardian knowing a minor is in possession of a dangerous weapon if:\n(a) the actor knows a minor is in possession of a dangerous weapon in violation of Section 76-11-211, Possession of a dangerous weapon by a minor;\n(b) the minor is the actor's biological or adopted child or the actor is the legal guardian of the minor; and\n(c) the actor fails to make reasonable efforts to remove the dangerous weapon from the minor's possession.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a class B misdemeanor.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-11 Weapons","Part 76-11-2 General Weapons Violations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter11/76-11-S214.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"c1f9f37579769dfc61a7f64b0c1730122983910c2c2a506e4bb01ebc68585c0d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-11-213","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-11-215"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
