{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-18-401","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-18-401","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1) \"Controlled substance\" has the same meaning as provided in Section 58-37-101.\n(2) \"Distribute\" means the actual, constructive, or attempted sale, transfer, delivery, or dispensing to another of an imitation controlled substance.\n(3)\n(a) \"Imitation controlled substance\" means a substance designed or packaged to substantially resemble any legally or illegally manufactured controlled substance.\n(b) \"Imitation controlled substance\" does not include:\n(i) a controlled substance; or\n(ii) a substance represented to be any legally or illegally manufactured controlled substance under Subsection 58-37-101(1)(h)(ii).\n(4) \"Manufacture\" means the production, preparation, compounding, processing, encapsulating, tableting, packaging or repackaging, labeling or relabeling, of an imitation controlled substance.\n(5) \"Minor\" means an individual who is under 18 years old.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-18 Drug Offenses","Part 76-18-4 Offenses Concerning Imitation Controlled Substances"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter18/76-18-S401.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"939e86da380c7a65f2652e50dfe0d5a4bb524dc2007883c238a8aa0dbd799a68","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-18-306","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-18-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
