{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-4-206","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-4-206","heading":"Contributing to the delinquency of a minor.","body":"(1)\n(a) As used in this section:\n(i) \"Adult\" means an individual who is 18 years old or older.\n(ii) \"Minor\" means an individual who is younger than 18 years old.\n(b) Terms defined in Section 76-1-101.5 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits contributing to the delinquency of a minor if the actor:\n(a) is an adult; and\n(b) commits any act or engages in any conduct that the actor knows or should know would have the effect of causing or encouraging a minor to commit an act that would be a class B misdemeanor, a class C misdemeanor, or an infraction under a federal or state statute or a county or municipal ordinance.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a class B misdemeanor.\n(4) A violation of Subsection (2) does not require that the minor be found to be delinquent or to have committed a delinquent act.\n(5) An offense committed under Subsection (2) is in addition to any completed or inchoate offense which the actor may have committed personally or as a party.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-4 Inchoate Offenses","Part 76-4-2 Conspiracy, Solicitation, and Contributing to Delinquency"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter4/76-4-S206.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"45f80d703a8fb5229fb5bfc27c21126eab84ea50cf9a1b96c99e37b2297576c4","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-4-205","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-4-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
