{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-5c-211","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-5c-211","heading":"Deactivation of a pornography device filter on a minor's device.","body":"(1)\n(a) As used in this section, \"device\" means the same as that term is defined in 78B-6-2601.\n(b) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-101.5, 76-5c-101, and 76-5c-201 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits deactivation of a pornography device filter on a minor's device if the actor:\n(a) is 18 years old or older;\n(b) intentionally disables the filter required under Section 78B-6-2602 that is on a device in the possession of a minor;\n(c) disabled the filter for the purpose of disseminating pornography to the minor described in Subsection (2)(b); and\n(d) is not the parent or legal guardian of the minor described in Subsection (2)(b).\n(3)\n(a) Except as provided in Subsection (3)(b), a violation of Subsection (2) is a class A misdemeanor subject to a fine of not more than $2,500.\n(b) A violation of Subsection (2) is a third degree felony subject to a fine of not more than $5,000 if the actor has previously been convicted of a violation of Subsection (2).","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-5c Pornographic and Harmful Materials and Performances","Part 76-5c-2 General Offenses"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter5c/76-5c-S211.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"d31d275570a4b24b334eecfe820e34971414a41f2aa24bdfa1367185338c0f53","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-5c-210","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-5c-212"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
