{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-6-208","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-6-208","heading":"Unsanctioned camping on state property.","body":"(1)\n(a) As used in this section, \"camping\" means:\n(i) erecting or occupying structures, including tents, temporary structures, recreational vehicles, travel trailers, or motor vehicles, for camping or other living accommodation activities, including sleeping, for any period of time;\n(ii) using camping-related items, including cots, beds, sleeping bags, or hammocks, for sleeping or other living accommodation activities; or\n(iii) cooking using a camp fire, propane stove, or other heat-producing portable cooking equipment.\n(b) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-105.1 and 76-1-201 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits unsanctioned camping if the actor is camping on state property unless the state expressly authorizes camping on the state property.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a class C misdemeanor.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-6 Offenses Against Property","Part 76-6-2 Burglary and Criminal Trespass"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter6/76-6-S208.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"1e42fa9962e1b6c0199285aa0c4a4e9f7a544c13df29c21a5c0995b75a1180b2","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-6-207","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-6-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
