{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-6-705","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-6-705","heading":"Reporting violations.","body":"(1) Each person who has reason to believe that a provision of Section 76-6-703, 76-6-703.3, 76-6-703.5, 76-6-703.7, or 76-12-205 is being or has been violated shall report the suspected violation to:\n(a) the attorney general, or county attorney, or, if within a prosecution district, the district attorney of the county or prosecution district in which part or all of the violation occurred; or\n(b) a state or local law enforcement agency.\n(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to the extent that the person is prohibited from reporting by a statutory or common law privilege.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-6 Offenses Against Property","Part 76-6-7 Utah Computer Crimes Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter6/76-6-S705.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"229c81a1e9cd987921b2560cf7dbe478e32da33fb248b2923c8b88b020324bae","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-6-704","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-6-801"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
