{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-7-105","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-7-105","heading":"Unlawfully marrying a minor.","body":"(1)\n(a) As used in this section, \"minor\" means an individual who is younger than 18 years old.\n(b) Terms defined in Section 76-1-101.5 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits unlawfully marrying a minor if:\n(a) the actor is 18 years old or older;\n(b) the actor marries a minor; and\n(c) the marriage described in Subsection (2)(b) does not meet the requirements described in Section 81-2-304 for the actor to enter into the marriage with the minor.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a third degree felony.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-7 Offenses Against the Family","Part 76-7-1 Marital Violations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter7/76-7-S105.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"820c02ea1460cca707a40ddf9ddb889ca1e94e79123c46fb27eaf97e7990fcd5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-7-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-7-106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
