{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-7-109","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-7-109","heading":"Transporting a minor out of state for an illegal marriage.","body":"(1)\n(a) As used in this section, \"minor\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 76-7-103.\n(b) Terms defined in Section 76-1-101.5 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits transporting a minor out of state for an illegal marriage if:\n(a) the actor knowingly transports, or causes another person to transport, a minor who is a resident of the state out of the state for the purpose of the minor being married to any individual;\n(b) the marriage described in Subsection (2)(a) is invalid in this state under Subsection 81-2-407(3); and\n(c) after the marriage described in Subsection (2)(a), the actor transports, or causes another person to transport, the minor back into the state.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a third degree felony.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-7 Offenses Against the Family","Part 76-7-1 Marital Violations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter7/76-7-S109.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"06112cb29fc280e79df9717a987a2c57d1cfe24b63f6afaed6b6175d973749bb","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-7-108","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-7-110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
