{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-1304","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-8-1304","heading":"Unlawful use or disclosure of employment information.","body":"(1)\n(a) As used in this section, \"employing unit\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 35A-4-202.\n(b) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-101.5 and 76-8-101 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits unlawful use or disclosure of employment information if the actor:\n(a)\n(i) is an employee of the Department of Workforce Services; and\n(ii) willfully violates Section 35A-4-312 by making a disclosure of information obtained from an employing unit or individual in the administration of Title 35A, Chapter 4, Employment Security Act; or\n(b)\n(i) obtains a list of applicants for work or of claimants or recipients of benefits under Title 35A, Chapter 4, Employment Security Act; and\n(ii) uses or permits the use of the list described in Subsection (2)(b)(i) for a political purpose.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a class C misdemeanor.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-8 Offenses Against the Administration of Government","Part 76-8-13 Unemployment Insurance Fraud"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter8/76-8-S1304.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"94597944a8901c55d82c9476538944c4327f31d592f99034409a1b959a0b7f2b","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-1303","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-1402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
