{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-301.5","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-8-301.5","heading":"Failure to disclose identity.","body":"(1) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-101.5 and 76-8-101 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits failure to disclose identity if, during the period of time that the actor is lawfully subjected to a stop as described in Section 77-7-15:\n(a) a peace officer demands that the actor disclose the actor's name or date of birth;\n(b) the demand described in Subsection (2)(a) is reasonably related to the circumstances justifying the stop;\n(c) the disclosure of the actor's name or date of birth by the actor does not present a reasonable danger of self-incrimination in the commission of a crime; and\n(d) the actor fails to disclose the actor's name or date of birth.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a class B misdemeanor.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-8 Offenses Against the Administration of Government","Part 76-8-3 Obstructing Governmental Operations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter8/76-8-S301.5.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"8ec7359fae7f53db2420c19c314f3c4be76f29d8a1df9ec4726179043ed9e607","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-301.2","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
