{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-312","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-8-312","heading":"Unlawful absence after pretrial release.","body":"(1) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-101.5 and 76-8-101 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits unlawful absence after pretrial release if the actor:\n(a) has been granted pretrial release by court order or by other lawful authority upon condition that the actor subsequently appear personally upon a charge of an offense; and\n(b) fails without just cause to appear at the time and place that have been lawfully designated for the actor's appearance.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is:\n(a) a third degree felony if the offense for which the actor failed to appear is a felony;\n(b) a class B misdemeanor if the offense for which the actor failed to appear is a misdemeanor; or\n(c) an infraction if the offense for which the actor failed to appear is an infraction.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-8 Offenses Against the Administration of Government","Part 76-8-3 Obstructing Governmental Operations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter8/76-8-S312.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"2dba80d46b9441edff9f76fd8271fe99c6ef50c606b679ff5933b6860f936153","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-311.11","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-313"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
