{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-321","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-8-321","heading":"Unlawfully advancing foreign organizations and governments.","body":"(1)\n(a) As used in this section:\n(i) \"Agent of a foreign government\" means the same as that term is defined in 18 U.S.C. Sec. 951.\n(ii) \"Federally designated foreign terrorist organization\" means a foreign organization that is designated by the federal government as a terrorist organization in accordance with 8 U.S.C. Sec. 1189.\n(b) Terms defined in Section 76-1-101.5 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits unlawfully advancing foreign organizations and governments if the actor:\n(a)\n(i) commits a local, state, or federal criminal offense that has a penalty level of a class B misdemeanor, class A misdemeanor, or felony; and\n(ii) coordinates with a federally designated foreign terrorist organization to commit the offense described in Subsection (2)(a)(i) with the intent to benefit or advance the interests of the federally designated foreign terrorist organization; or\n(b) unlawfully acts, or attempts to act, as an agent of a foreign government.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a third degree felony.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-8 Offenses Against the Administration of Government","Part 76-8-3 Obstructing Governmental Operations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter8/76-8-S321.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"a861e173118e500a397a5d534944cb002f592370aa656624b5604b42204be483","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-320","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-8-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
