{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-9-1805","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-9-1805","heading":"Unlawful failure to prevent accumulation of litter at a construction or demolition site.","body":"(1) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-101.5 and 76-9-1801 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits unlawful failure to prevent accumulation of litter at a construction or demolition site if the actor:\n(a) is in charge of a construction or demolition site; and\n(b) fails to take reasonable steps to prevent the accumulation of litter at the construction or demolition site.\n(3)\n(a) A violation of Subsection (2) is a class C misdemeanor and subject to a minimum fine of $100 for each violation.\n(b) The court may require the actor to participate in at least four hours of cleaning up:\n(i) the litter caused by the actor's offense; and\n(ii) existing litter from a safe area designated by the court.\n(4) A municipality within the municipality's corporate limits and a county outside of incorporated municipalities may enact local ordinances to carry out the provisions of this section.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-9 Offenses Against Public Order, Health, and Safety","Part 76-9-18 Litter and Recycling Violations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter9/76-9-S1805.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"c51b569e9092c2cd5f4cf11613c5382536b91ce9eff890a7d497cbd8893d7598","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-9-1804","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-9-1806"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
