{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-76-9-803","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 76-9-803","heading":"Soliciting, recruiting, enticing, or intimidating a minor to join a criminal street gang.","body":"(1) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-101.5 and 76-9-802 apply to this section.\n(2) An actor commits soliciting, recruiting, enticing, or intimidating a minor to join a criminal street gang if the actor:\n(a) solicits, recruits, entices, or intimidates a minor to join a criminal street gang; or\n(b) conspires to commit an act described in Subsection (2)(a) with the intent to cause a minor to join a criminal street gang.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is:\n(a) a class A misdemeanor if the actor is a minor; or\n(b) a third degree felony if the actor is 18 years old or older.\n(4) It is not a defense to a prosecution under this section that the minor did not join the criminal street gang.","path":["Title 76 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 76-9 Offenses Against Public Order, Health, and Safety","Part 76-9-8 Criminal Gang Related Offenses"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter9/76-9-S803.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"14dafb5d089ad784beb7effa81a33f58704490861d234b7bdc789e3382fd94ae","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-76-9-802","next":"us-ut/utah-code-76-9-803.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
