{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-77-23d-103","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 77-23d-103","heading":"Use of imaging surveillance device -- Warrant required -- Exceptions.","body":"(1) Except as provided in Subsection (2), a government entity may not operate an imaging surveillance device without a search warrant issued upon probable cause.\n(2) A government entity may operate an imaging surveillance device without a search warrant:\n(a) for testing equipment or training if the testing or training:\n(i) is not conducted as part of an investigation or law enforcement activity; and\n(ii) is conducted with the knowledge and consent of:\n(A) each individual who is imaged; and\n(B) an owner of each property that is imaged;\n(b) in exigent circumstances; or\n(c) in fresh pursuit of a person suspected of committing a felony.","path":["Title 77 Criminal Procedure","Chapter 77-23d Surveillance Privacy"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title77/Chapter23d/77-23d-S103.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"82ad53ca5be613184345b6a36be413a61506bd3925537b0e5a32dce4c73e372f","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-77-23d-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-77-23d-104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
