{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-77-38-14","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 77-38-14","heading":"Notice of expungement petition -- Victim's right to object.","body":"(1)\n(a) The Department of Corrections or the Juvenile Probation Department shall prepare a document explaining the right of a victim or a victim's representative to object to a petition for expungement under Section 77-40a-305 or 80-6-1004.1 and the procedures for obtaining notice of the petition.\n(b) The department or division shall provide each trial court a copy of the document that has jurisdiction over delinquencies or criminal offenses subject to expungement.\n(2) The prosecuting attorney in any case leading to a conviction, a charge dismissed in accordance with a plea in abeyance agreement, or an adjudication subject to expungement, shall provide a copy of the document to each person who would be entitled to notice of a petition for expungement under Sections 77-40a-305 and 80-6-1004.1.","path":["Title 77 Criminal Procedure","Chapter 77-38 Crime Victims","Part 77-38-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title77/Chapter38/77-38-S14.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"97618e2bb8f989a1fda0fbf0860d7d7e7b15eabdb4c03b31491e2ca632548096","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-77-38-13","next":"us-ut/utah-code-77-38-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
