{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-18a-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 78B-18a-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"In this chapter:\n(1) \"Law\" includes a statute, judicial decision or order, rule of court, executive order, and administrative rule, regulation, or order.\n(2) \"Record\" means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in perceivable form.\n(3) \"Sign\" means, with present intent to authenticate or adopt a record:\n(a) to execute or adopt a tangible symbol; or\n(b) to attach to or logically associate with the record an electronic symbol, sound, or process.\n(4)\n(a) \"Sworn declaration\" means a declaration in a signed record given under oath.\n(b) \"Sworn declaration\" includes a sworn statement, verification, certificate, and affidavit.\n(5) \"Unsworn declaration\" means a declaration in a signed record not given under oath but given under penalty of Title 76, Chapter 8, Part 5, Falsification in Official Matters.","path":["Title 78B Judicial Code","Chapter 78B-18a Uniform Unsworn Declarations Act","Part 78B-18a-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title78B/Chapter18a/78B-18a-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"8f2e0f5950874fccf1b2430aadd720405d1fd47f46e35fa7fde360af75073fbc","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-18a-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-18a-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
