{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-3-1301","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 78B-3-1301","heading":"Definitions for part.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1) \"Americans with Disabilities Act\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 78B-8-701.\n(2) \"Attorney\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 78B-3-111.\n(3) \"Business organization\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 78B-3a-101.\n(4) \"Defendant\" means a person against which a website access lawsuit is brought.\n(5) \"Defending party\" means a resident who is a defendant in a website access lawsuit.\n(6) \"Filing party\" means an individual, attorney, or law firm that initiated a website access lawsuit against a defending party.\n(7) \"Law firm\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 78B-3-111.\n(8) \"Principal place of business\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 78B-3a-101.\n(9) \"Registered office\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 78B-3a-101.\n(10) \"Resident\" means:\n(a) the same as that term is defined in Section 53-3-102; or\n(b) a business organization with a principal place of business or registered office located in this state.\n(11) \"Website access lawsuit\" means a lawsuit alleging that a website fails to comply with accessibility standards required under the Americans with Disabilities Act.\n(12) \"Website access violation\" means an allegation that a website fails to comply with accessibility standards required under the Americans with Disabilities Act.","path":["Title 78B Judicial Code","Chapter 78B-3 Civil Actions","Part 78B-3-13 Abusive Website Access Litigation"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title78B/Chapter3/78B-3-S1301.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"147ac58b14d64494410da38887a9d78528ef7d27f45d779f007f72125626a15e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-3-1204","next":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-3-1302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
