{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-6-2102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 78B-6-2102","heading":"Exemptions.","body":"(1) If the conditions of Subsection (2) are met, this part does not apply to:\n(a) the following, as defined in the Communications Act of 1934, as amended:\n(i) an interactive computer service;\n(ii) a telecommunications service, information service, or mobile service, including a commercial mobile service; or\n(iii) a multichannel video programming distributor;\n(b) an internet service provider;\n(c) a provider of an electronic communications service;\n(d) a distributor of internet-based video services;\n(e) a hosting company as defined in Section 76-5c-401; or\n(f) a distributor of electronic or computerized game software that users manipulate through interactive devices.\n(2) This part does not apply to an entity described in Subsection (1) if:\n(a) the distribution of obscene animal abuse material or pornographic material by the entity occurs only incidentally through the entity's function of:\n(i) transmitting or routing data from one person to another person;\n(ii) providing a connection between one person and another person; or\n(iii) providing data storage space or data caching to a person; and\n(b) the entity does not intentionally aid or abet in the distribution of the obscene animal abuse material or pornographic material.","path":["Title 78B Judicial Code","Chapter 78B-6 Particular Proceedings","Part 78B-6-21 Cause of Action for Minors Injured by Pornographic Material"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title78B/Chapter6/78B-6-S2102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"65dd098cdf3f9102f5e981f7e50f5976bed4d4dfae02315ef24b94eb7489fd28","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-6-2101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-6-2103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
