{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-7-502","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 78B-7-502","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1) \"Ex parte sexual violence protective order\" means an order issued without notice to the respondent under this part.\n(2) \"Protective order\" means:\n(a) a sexual violence protective order; or\n(b) an ex parte sexual violence protective order.\n(3)\n(a) \"Sexual violence\" means the commission or the attempt to commit:\n(i) any sexual offense described in:\n(A) Title 76, Chapter 5, Part 4, Sexual Offenses; or\n(B) Title 76, Chapter 5b, Part 2, Sexual Exploitation;\n(ii) human trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation under Section 76-5-308.1; or\n(iii) aggravated human trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation under Section 76-5-310.2.\n(b) \"Sexual violence\" does not include an offense described in:\n(i) Section 76-5-417, enticing a minor;\n(ii) Section 76-5-418, sexual battery;\n(iii) Section 76-5-419, lewdness;\n(iv) Section 76-5-420, lewdness involving a child; or\n(v) Section 76-5b-206, failure to report child sexual abuse material by a computer technician.\n(4) \"Sexual violence protective order\" means an order issued under this part after a hearing on the petition, of which the petitioner and respondent have been given notice.","path":["Title 78B Judicial Code","Chapter 78B-7 Protective Orders and Stalking Injunctions","Part 78B-7-5 Sexual Violence Protective Orders"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title78B/Chapter7/78B-7-S502.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"f2295fb14518ec0f1f7f04527ec6180d0895896b523703fc56c094200402bbbb","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-7-409","next":"us-ut/utah-code-78b-7-503"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
