{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-79-2-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 79-2-201","heading":"Department of Natural Resources created.","body":"(1) There is created the Department of Natural Resources.\n(2) The department comprises the following:\n(a) Board of Water Resources, created in Section 73-10-1.5;\n(b) Board of Oil, Gas, and Mining, created in Section 40-6-4;\n(c) Office of Energy Development, created in Section 79-6-401;\n(d) Wildlife Board, created in Section 23A-2-301;\n(e) Board of the Utah Geological Survey, created in Section 79-3-301;\n(f) Water Development Coordinating Council, created in Section 73-10c-3;\n(g) Division of Water Rights, created in Section 73-2-1.1;\n(h) Division of Water Resources, created in Section 73-10-18;\n(i) Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands, created in Section 65A-1-4;\n(j) Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining, created in Section 40-6-15;\n(k) Division of State Parks, created in Section 79-4-201;\n(l) Division of Outdoor Recreation, created in Section 79-7-201;\n(m) Division of Wildlife Resources, created in Section 23A-2-201;\n(n) Utah Geological Survey, created in Section 79-3-201;\n(o) Utah Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Advisory Committee, created in Section 79-7-206;\n(p)\n(i) an advisory council that includes in the advisory council's duties advising on state boating policy, authorized by Section 73-18-3.5; or\n(ii) an advisory council that includes in the advisory council's duties advising on off-highway vehicle use, authorized by Section 41-22-10;\n(q) Wildlife Board Nominating Committee, created in Section 23A-2-302;\n(r) Wildlife Regional Advisory Councils, created in Section 23A-2-303;\n(s) Utah Watersheds Council, created in Section 73-10g-304;\n(t) Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office created in Section 63L-11-201;\n(u) the Great Salt Lake commissioner, appointed under Section 73-32-201, and the Office of the Great Salt Lake Commissioner, created in Section 73-32-301;\n(v) the Colorado River Authority and river commissioner under Title 73, Chapter 35, Colorado River Authority of Utah Act; and\n(w) the Critical Minerals Council, created in Section 79-10-301.","path":["Title 79 Natural Resources","Chapter 79-2 Department of Natural Resources","Part 79-2-2 Department Creation and Administration"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title79/Chapter2/79-2-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"b46f7f2dc5b45d80cef8917b6b9dd772286c77965a54ede2fbc9316085616f9d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-79-2-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-79-2-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
