{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-79-2-702","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 79-2-702","heading":"Division creation -- Purpose.","body":"(1) There is created within the department a Division of Law Enforcement.\n(2) Subject to the priorities defined by the director, the primary function of the division is to enforce:\n(a) Title 23A, Wildlife Resources Act;\n(b) Title 41, Chapter 22, Off-highway Vehicles;\n(c) Title 65A, Forestry, Fire, and State Lands;\n(d) Title 73, Chapter 18, State Boating Act;\n(e) this title; and\n(f) an administrative rule enacted by a board within one of the department's divisions or by one of the department's divisions.\n(3) The division shall coordinate with county sheriffs, police, and other law enforcement officers within a law enforcement jurisdiction the division operates to enforce this part.\n(4) This part does not limit or modify the powers and duties of other law enforcement officers in the state.","path":["Title 79 Natural Resources","Chapter 79-2 Department of Natural Resources","Part 79-2-7 Division of Law Enforcement"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title79/Chapter2/79-2-S702.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"37fe62c7da47c0dcdd162a68385874b3e0e7c41175037929c6c1d970a35e0783","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-79-2-701","next":"us-ut/utah-code-79-2-703"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
