{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-79-4-1202","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 79-4-1202","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1) \"Application\" means a written application that an individual, non-profit corporation, government agency, county council or commission, tribal entity, historical society, preservation organization, or other interested group may submit to the division to nominate a historic landmark, historic or prehistoric structure, geologic formation, cultural site, or archaeological resource for designation as a state monument.\n(2) \"Committee\" means the Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Interim Committee or the House or Senate Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Standing Committee.\n(3) \"State monument\" means public land:\n(a) owned or managed by the state;\n(b) designated by the state for preservation of a historic landmark, historic or prehistoric structure, geologic formation, cultural site, or archeological resource; and\n(c) confined to the smallest area compatible with proper care and management of the historic landmark, historic or prehistoric structure, geologic formation, cultural site, or archeological resource to be protected.","path":["Title 79 Natural Resources","Chapter 79-4 State Parks","Part 79-4-12 State Monuments Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title79/Chapter4/79-4-S1202.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"47cb7fa00a9c3e28ad30751835cf963e5bad475a8edb64ea1a6f1d111b1862d9","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-79-4-1002","next":"us-ut/utah-code-79-4-1203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
