{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-79-6-1004","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 79-6-1004","heading":"Utah San Rafael Energy Lab established -- Lab director.","body":"(1) There is established within the office a program and facility known as the Utah San Rafael Energy Lab to facilitate innovative energy research and development projects.\n(2) The lab shall:\n(a) receive and evaluate project proposals;\n(b) submit recommendations to the board for approval regarding specific project proposals based on the lab's evaluation;\n(c) conduct innovative energy technology research and development projects that have commercialization potential and support the state's energy policy goals;\n(d) enter into financial contracts with entities seeking to use the lab, with revenues deposited into the Utah Energy Research Fund created in Section 79-6-1002;\n(e) assess the viability of emerging energy solutions for deployment within the state, considering:\n(i) cost-effectiveness;\n(ii) dispatchability;\n(iii) sustainability;\n(iv) reliability; and\n(v) environmental impact;\n(f) provide analysis and recommendations to policymakers regarding energy system planning, infrastructure needs, and the value of different energy initiatives being considered within the state; and\n(g) collaborate with universities, industry partners, entrepreneurs, community representatives, and other research entities.","path":["Title 79 Natural Resources","Chapter 79-6 Utah Energy Act","Part 79-6-10 Utah San Rafael State Energy Lab"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title79/Chapter6/79-6-S1004.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"c104b3f005a34c60d6839091e0666bc8f745f5f4c700f3fa37b138160f7b5ca9","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-79-6-1003","next":"us-ut/utah-code-79-6-1005"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
