{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-79-6-1106","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 79-6-1106","heading":"Authorized uses of fund money.","body":"(1)\n(a) Subject to legislative appropriation, the council may use fund money to:\n(i) facilitate electrical energy infrastructure development within the state, including:\n(A) transmission and distribution lines;\n(B) pipeline development;\n(C) energy storage facilities;\n(D) generation facilities;\n(E) related infrastructure;\n(F) to fund research, site selection, permitting, public outreach, and other activities related to the development of nuclear energy; and\n(G) district energy systems as defined in Section 79-6-602;\n(ii) provide matching funds for federal energy development grants;\n(iii) support energy workforce development programs;\n(iv) provide incentives for electrical energy development projects;\n(v) pay for administrative expenses related to the council's duties; and\n(vi) provide project financing and matching grants for entities participating in a campus as described in Section 79-6-1504.\n(b) Except as provided in Subsection (2), fund money derived from the radioactive waste facility expansion tax revenue collected under Section 59-24-103.8 is prioritized for activities related to the development of nuclear energy.\n(2) Subject to legislative appropriation, the Department of Environmental Quality created in Section 19-1-104 may use up to 10% of fund money derived from the radioactive waste facility expansion tax revenue collected under Section 59-24-103.8 for energy-related permitting reforms.","path":["Title 79 Natural Resources","Chapter 79-6 Utah Energy Act","Part 79-6-11 Utah Energy Council"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title79/Chapter6/79-6-S1106.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"1d527995c0d3634d3d73e0e45906d2c356bcd63f73397eee46a29a7e0a877a94","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-79-6-1105","next":"us-ut/utah-code-79-6-1107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
