{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-80-2-808","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 80-2-808","heading":"Division termination or modification of adoption assistance.","body":"(1) The division may not terminate or modify adoption assistance unless the division gives the adoptive parents notice and opportunity for a hearing as required in Title 63G, Chapter 4, Administrative Procedures Act.\n(2) The division shall terminate adoption assistance if any of the following occur:\n(a) the adoptive parents request termination;\n(b) subject to Subsection (3), the child reaches 18 years old, unless the division gives approval to continue beyond 18 years old due to mental or physical disability;\n(c) the child dies;\n(d) the adoptive parents die;\n(e) the adoptive parents' legal responsibility for the child ceases;\n(f) the state determines that the child is no longer receiving support from the adoptive parents;\n(g) the child marries; or\n(h) the child enters military service.\n(3) Adoption assistance may not continue after the day on which the child reaches 21 years old.","path":["Title 80 Utah Juvenile Code","Chapter 80-2 Child Welfare Services","Part 80-2-8 Division Child Placing and Adoption Services"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title80/Chapter2/80-2-S808.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"7579f96112740bdd04185013e4d8c4667d908c1f07c7cc093c06dd848da8a4bb","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-80-2-807","next":"us-ut/utah-code-80-2-809"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
