{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-81-5-508","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 81-5-508","heading":"Genetic testing when specimens not available.","body":"(1) Subject to Subsection (2), if a genetic-testing specimen is not available from a man who may be the father of a child, for good cause and under extraordinary circumstances the tribunal considers to be just, the tribunal may order the following individuals to submit specimens for genetic testing:\n(a) the parents of the man;\n(b) brothers and sisters of the man;\n(c) other children of the man and their mothers; and\n(d) other relatives of the man necessary to complete genetic testing.\n(2) Issuance of an order under this section requires a finding that a need for genetic testing outweighs the legitimate interests of the individual sought to be tested.","path":["Title 81 Utah Domestic Relations Code","Chapter 81-5 Uniform Parentage Act","Part 81-5-5 Genetic Testing"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title81/Chapter5/81-5-S508.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"801cc2bfaf99788dc43a2ed9a354271cf4ff6bc4efcbd271e5ea851d7d84e236","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-81-5-507","next":"us-ut/utah-code-81-5-509"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
