{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-81-5-807","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 81-5-807","heading":"Parentage under validated gestational agreement.","body":"(1)\n(a) Upon birth of a child to a gestational mother, the intended parents shall file notice with the tribunal that a child has been born to the gestational mother within 300 days after assisted reproduction.\n(b) If the intended parents file a notice described in Subsection (1)(a), the tribunal shall issue an order:\n(i) confirming that the intended parents are the parents of the child;\n(ii) if necessary, ordering that the child be surrendered to the intended parents; and\n(iii) directing the Office of Vital Records and Statistics to issue a birth certificate naming the intended parents as parents of the child.\n(2) If the parentage of a child born to the gestational mother is in dispute as not the result of an assisted reproduction, the tribunal shall order genetic testing to determine the parentage of the child.","path":["Title 81 Utah Domestic Relations Code","Chapter 81-5 Uniform Parentage Act","Part 81-5-8 Gestational Agreement"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title81/Chapter5/81-5-S807.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"0d71a782b9883899d3edc354da70ca59de0d37df613a1da096aebc2ea8ee5fe8","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-81-5-806","next":"us-ut/utah-code-81-5-808"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
