{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-9-6-409","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 9-6-409","heading":"Rights of artist commissioned by program.","body":"An artist who is commissioned by the program to create a work of art has the following rights with respect to that work of art:\n(1) all rights secured to the artist under federal copyright laws;\n(2) the right to claim authorship of the work of art;\n(3) the right to photographic reproduction of the work of art;\n(4) the right of first refusal:\n(a) to conduct all repair and conservation work on the work of art in accordance with accepted principles of professional conservation; and\n(b) to purchase the work of art if the state decides to sell it; and\n(5) the right to deny further association of the artist's name with or authorship of the work of art if conservation or repair work is done by a person other than the artist, which in the opinion of the artist damages its integrity.","path":["Title 9 Cultural and Community Engagement","Chapter 9-6 Arts and Museums Development","Part 9-6-4 Utah Percent-for-Art Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title9/Chapter6/9-6-S409.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"5a46ca9f6955bcb675ac480e50c551db658c24c075eea4d10300d363b5abd97d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-9-6-408","next":"us-ut/utah-code-9-6-410"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
