{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-9-8-209","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 9-8-209","heading":"Museum of Utah -- Creation -- Duties.","body":"(1) There is created within the society the Museum of Utah under the administration and supervision of the director or the designee of the director.\n(2) The Museum of Utah shall:\n(a) function as an educational outlet for the society to educate the public on Utah history and culture;\n(b) support the efforts of museums, historical organizations, and other cultural organizations in the state to promote and preserve Utah history and culture;\n(c) serve as a repository of historical artifacts acquired by the department;\n(d) stimulate research, study, and activity in the field of Utah history, museum studies, and related fields of study;\n(e) exhibit collections to the public on a regular schedule;\n(f) facilitate strategic partnerships to advance the development of museums, historical organizations, and other cultural organizations in the state; and\n(g) establish and coordinate best practices among museum professionals and volunteers in the state.","path":["Title 9 Cultural and Community Engagement","Chapter 9-8 History Development","Part 9-8-2 Utah Historical Society"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title9/Chapter8/9-8-S209.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"1d262a3b734c5099de188255e3ac6d69128d2d6e71c7aa975fbfc1a014628b14","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-9-8-207","next":"us-ut/utah-code-9-8-210"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
