When an enrolled medically indigent Medicare beneficiary meets the medically needy spenddown, he continues to be eligible for Medicaid as a Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) but is also eligible for Medicaid as medically needy beginning the date the spenddown was met, and ending the last day of the six-month spenddown period.\n\nB. No new application for QMB shall be required to continue entitlement as a QMB at the end of the budget period; however, the individual must file a new application in order for eligibility for full Medicaid benefits in subsequent budget periods.","path":["Title 12.
