The certification process begins when an applicant contacts the local agency to make an oral or written request for WIC benefits.\n\nB. A local agency may choose to serve participants who live outside of their local agency geographic area, but within the state, in cases of hardship.\n\nC. Breastfeeding women shall be certified up to the last day of the month in which her infant turns one year old or until the woman ceases breastfeeding, whichever occurs first.\n\nD.
